Intro to IB middle back office and the related certifications

Compliance: In recent years, more and more regulations have been set up to monitor the business activities of financial institutions. Therefore, IBs have also allocated a significant amount of resources to ensure that they do not violate regulations! Not only because the fines for such violations are sky-high, but they run the risk of suspension of that related business for a year.

To pursue a career in compliance, you've to be detail-minded. It’s good to have a background in law or compliance. We foresee that as regulators implement more regulatory policies, the headcount of IB Compliance will be quite stable!

Risk Man: This division comprises Quantitative Risk and Qualitative Risk. Normally students with a quantitative degree, say Risk Management, Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science will have an edge because they can apply the Quantitative Knowledge.

Finance/ Internal Audit: You have to be genuinely interested in accounting and preferably have a background in accounting.

Operations: Many Ops Programs will allow you to engage in projects, like FinTech Project Man or Business Analytics. If you're interested in Fintech/ Tech, but don't possess a lot of programming knowledge, you can aim for Project Man!
