Jacob approached us with not the strongest applicant profile: in fact, his GPA was lower than 3.0 and he has only got one work experience.

Our strategy for Jacob: We suggested him to aim at Commercial, Corporate Banking roles which require less technical knowledge.

 

Our preparation with Jacob: We trained him up to each of his interviews, for example providing guidance on how to write a credit proposal and on product knowledge such as Trade Finance and Syndicated Loan.

 

Since CMB interviews consist of more CV-based and behavioural questions, Jacob took part in our mock practices weekly to work on interview responses that could present his experiences and traits more effectively. This was particularly important since CMBs would be looking for attributes in Jacob that would potentially match with the ones of a relationship manager at the bank.

 

In addition, we identified and worked on his weak performance in Aptitude Tests by providing him extra help so he could pass this assessment round.
