You must know the sub-teams within ECM!

These include Equity Origination, Syndicate, Equity Linked products, and Private Placement. ECM Analysts in the Equity Origination Team handle a range of tasks like creating market slides and case studies (decks on equity markets activity, including the stock performances before and after issuance to pitch the company’s growth potential to investors, as well as case studies of capital raised, pricing premium, and stock price after the issuance), drafting the Sales Team Memo (highlighting why investors should buy the client’s offering), Shareholder Analysis, Cross-holdings Analysis, and Shareholder Momentum Analysis (to assess current and target investors with serious interest in the client company), as well as Trading Flow Analysis (to advise on equity pricing), and financial modeling (though much simpler than M&A deals or leveraged buyouts, like comparables analysis and capital structure changes post offering)
