2 Ways to differentiate the "real" and "fake" Management Trainee programs
1️⃣Judge by the training duration & details on the recruitment advertisements
Many banks & major companies offer MT programs to attract talented young adults to join the firms. MTs will be trained to take up managerial-grade personnel, which is why the programs usually last 2-3 years, allowing MTs to engage in the business and operation in a systematised manner. Trainees would work in different departments and gain a thorough understanding of the core businesses. When applying for MT programs, remember to take a look at the career page of the firm to know more about the details. Most of the banks & large enterprises will list the training time frame and content online. If you can’t find any of the relevant information there, plz pay extra attention!
2️⃣Examine the training details
The training of genuine MT programs is highly structured, as companies have to ensure that MTs could be involved in every division and understand the operation & business of the firm effectively. Since the programs involve numerous departments, companies will definitely set a timetable beforehand. Rarely will there be random distribution of job tasks. For example, banks’ MT programs are designed and offered in different divisions, such as digital banking, personal banking, corporate banking and so on, and on-the-job training is provided accordingly. Make sure you check out the training details to see if the MT programs are valid.
