Securing a London IBD offer as a non-native English speaker!? (Priscilla’s success story)

Priscilla came to us for career strategy mapping since she was keen to crack an investment banking role in the UK. We explained that it would be extremely challenging for a non-native English speaker to get into the London IBD market. In view of the IBD market not performing very well in the past few years, some institutions also slashed headcounts which would further limit Priscilla’s chances.

We advised her on networking strategies and she networked herself very well from LinkedIn to attending online and offline events. She additionally prepared for all the IB-related technical questions in our repository and participated in regular mock interview practices with behavioral coaches and industry experts.

She went through 5 rounds of interviews to finally secure an offer with a European tier 1 bank.

So, what was special about Priscilla’s case?
The program we curated for her didn't just train her on technical knowledge and interview skills. We coached her extensively on networking herself into a bank, including how to improve her LinkedIn profile and connections. We strategised on the kind of networking programs, spring internships, or events she should target in addition to honing her communication style.

Another game changer was her application strategy and advising how she could build her career path by stacking up the most relevant internships and experiences as stepping stones to her final target.
