Driven to pursue a career in consulting - Rose's Strategy to Success

Rose had a knack for working with people and enjoyed devising solutions for others. Her favourite experience she had noted on her CV was volunteering in a student consulting group to work with NGOs.  She was, however, struggling, to gain more consulting experience for her CV.

She joined our 2-year programme and we worked with her first on developing a career roadmap to guide her in building up her consulting experiences. She was someone who had a good number of extracurricular activities but only one work experience in auditing and one in marketing. Her CV lacking focus was causing her trouble in securing anything else. Thus, we worked with her 1-on-1 to tailor her CV into one that was far more consulting focused and highlighted the excellent transferrable skills she had honed in her auditing and marketing experiences, such as problem-solving, communication, research, and solution-development skills. She eventually secured a consulting-related position with an educational institute plus an Audit role. She remained positive and took this as an opportunity to enhance her interpersonal and client management skills.

Soon after completing this internship, we worked with her on polishing her CV and had her continue working with us in interview training sessions. By the end of her second year of university, she eventually secured two offers in management consulting and I.T. consulting including Big 4! Her drive and positive attitude impressed her employers so much, she was later granted a return offer.
